Giant Green Long-headed Grasshopper

This amazing grasshopper occasionally comes to the mothing light. It’s more formally known as the Giant Green Slantface, but also called the Giant Green Long-headed Grasshopper (the name I prefer). This grasshopper has a very wide range over much of Australia, but isn’t always green.

Order: Orthoptera (grasshoppers, locusts, crickets, mole-crickets, katydids)
Sub-order: Califera, shorthorned grasshoppers, locusts and relatives
Family: Pyrgomorphidae
Species: Acrida conica
Common name: Giant Green Long-headed Grasshopper
